West Ham Part Ways with Julen Lopetegui, Set to Appoint Graham Potter as New Manager

West Ham United have parted ways with head coach Julen Lopetegui after a string of disappointing results in the Premier League.

The decision comes in the wake of back-to-back heavy defeats against Manchester City and Liverpool, where the Hammers conceded nine goals while scoring just one.

Despite significant summer spending of nearly £130 million, the team has struggled to find form, winning only six out of 20 matches and sitting precariously seven points above the relegation zone.

The club has reportedly lined up Graham Potter, former Brighton and Chelsea manager, as Lopetegui’s successor. Potter, who has been out of management since leaving Chelsea in April 2023, is expected to bring a fresh approach to revitalize the struggling team.

In a statement, West Ham expressed gratitude to Lopetegui and his staff for their efforts while acknowledging the need for change to realign with the club’s ambitions.

Further updates on the managerial appointment are anticipated as the Hammers aim to steer their season back on track.

West Ham United’s recent struggles have led to a disappointing run of form, winning only one of their last five matches across all competitions. With the pressure mounting, the Hammers are set to return to action on Friday for a crucial third-round FA Cup clash against Aston Villa at Villa Park.
