Ghanaian dancehall sensation Shatta Wale has once again captured the attention of netizens after gifting GH₵ 20,000 to a young woman named Priscilla to help support her education.
The gesture, made during a visit to Kumasi, has sparked widespread admiration online, as fans praise the artist for his kindness and commitment to uplifting others. The act of generosity comes after Priscilla, a budding artist, presented Shatta Wale with a portrait she had painted of him.
In a video shared on Instagram, Shatta Wale is seen engaging in a conversation with broadcaster Hammer Nti when Priscilla approached him with her artwork. The dancehall star, clearly impressed with the portrait, struck up a conversation with the young artist, who tearfully revealed her struggles.
She explained that she had completed senior high school the previous year but was unable to pursue tertiary education due to financial constraints. Moved by Priscilla’s story, Shatta Wale took immediate action by giving her mother GH₵ 20,000 to help cover Priscilla’s educational expenses.
Grateful for the support, Priscilla’s mother expressed her heartfelt appreciation, sharing that their family had been facing financial difficulties after the passing of her husband three years ago. She expressed her deep gratitude, saying, “God bless you so much for this gesture.”
Shatta Wale’s manager, Sammy Flex, was also present during the meeting and urged Priscilla’s mother to ensure that the money was used wisely for its intended purpose.
