OB Amponsah: I Regret Voting for Akufo-Addo

Ghanaian comedian OB Amponsah has voiced his deep disappointment with the Akufo-Addo administration, revealing why he opted out of voting in the 2024 general elections.

In an interview with DJ Slim, OB admitted to voting for Akufo-Addo in four consecutive elections but now regrets his choices.

His frustration stems from personal financial setbacks linked to the government’s handling of key economic issues, particularly the Menzgold scandal and the Domestic Debt Exchange program.

He shared how these events severely impacted his investments, leaving him disillusioned with the administration’s commitment to the welfare of citizens.

OB recounted his frustration, explaining how his attempts at legitimate investments resulted in financial losses due to what he described as the government’s negligence.

He also expressed concern about the difficulty of criticizing the government, noting that speaking out often led to threats and intimidation.

Despite considering voting for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, his negative experiences ultimately led him to boycott the 2024 elections altogether.
