Martha Ankomah Rejects Lil Win’s Apology in GH₵5M Defamation Battle

The defamation case between actress Martha Ankomah and Kumawood star Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, remains unresolved as Ankomah refuses to accept his recent public apology.

Citing a lack of sincerity and a proper retraction, the actress is standing firm on her demand for a more appropriate apology that adequately addresses the harm caused by the alleged defamatory statements.

With a GH₵5 million lawsuit at stake, the High Court has adjourned proceedings to February 2025, giving both parties a window to explore settlement discussions outside the courtroom.

The courtroom session, held behind closed doors on December 13, 2024, saw legal representatives on both sides debating the next steps to reach a resolution.

The controversy stems from a viral video in which Lil Win allegedly made disparaging remarks about Ankomah, sparking public attention and legal action.

Ankomah is seeking not just financial compensation for damage to her reputation, but also aggravated damages for the perceived malice behind the comments.

Additionally, she demands an apology and a retraction with the same level of prominence as the original defamatory statements. As the court grants time for potential reconciliation, Lil Win faces the challenge of salvaging his public image and professional reputation.

Whether a genuine apology and out-of-court agreement can resolve the case remains to be seen.
