Ghana winger Joseph Paintsil credits his twin sister, Josephine, for guiding his decision to join MLS side LA Galaxy, a move that has proven to be a success.
Paintsil revealed that both he and his sister felt it was the right step for his career. “I was feeling good, my twin sister was feeling good, so I think it was the right decision for me to take,” he shared.
Following his move, Paintsil has played a pivotal role in LA Galaxy’s journey to the 2024 MLS final, where they will face the New York Red Bulls, aiming for their sixth championship title.
Before his switch to the United States, many Ghanaians hoped he would stay in Europe after his impressive run with KRC Gent. However, his sister’s instincts played a crucial role. “I never make my decision without my twin sister, because she really means a lot to me,” Paintsil explained.

He believes their connection, formed in the womb, guides him. “The most important thing is my twin sister — whatever she says, it always goes with my spirit.” Clearly, this decision, rooted in their bond, is paying off for Paintsil and LA Galaxy.
