Frimpong Manso Appointed as New Head Coach of Black Starlets

Frimpong Manso has been officially named as the new head coach of Ghana’s U17 national team, the Black Starlets.

The veteran coach takes over from Laryea Kingston, who parted ways with the team during the Africa U17 Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Manso, a former Asante Kotoko and Ghana player, is tasked with rebuilding the team and ensuring their qualification for the next tournament, following a disappointing campaign under Kingston.

This appointment marks a return for Manso, who previously served as head coach of the Black Starlets between 2009 and 2010 and as an assistant coach for both the Starlets and the Black Meteors.

With an impressive coaching résumé that includes stints at clubs like Asante Kotoko, Karela United, and Stade d’Abidjan, Manso’s experience will be pivotal in reviving the fortunes of the two-time African champions, who last qualified for the continental championship in 2017.
