Former musician and now Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has credited his recent electoral victory to advice from Dancehall artist Shatta Wale.
In a widely shared video, A Plus revealed that during his campaign, he sought guidance from Shatta Wale, who encouraged him to focus on helping people rather than making empty promises.
Inspired by Shatta’s words, A Plus redirected his campaign efforts toward meeting the needs of his constituents. He funded medical bills, supported infrastructure projects, and tackled pressing community issues.
Reflecting on Shatta Wale’s wisdom, he shared, “I realized it’s true; solving people’s problems builds trust. Shatta is a very wise man, and his advice played a big role in my success.”

A Plus won the Gomoa Central seat by a margin of over 2,000 votes, unseating the incumbent MP Naana Eyiah Quansah.
